ZKP RTV Slovenija, in cooperation with Radio Slovenia – Prvi program, is releasing the digital album Festival slovenskega šansona 2025, featuring eleven new songs selected by the festival jury for this year’s event, which took place in Velenje. The selected works are: Matjaž Romih: Hohštapler, Cafe Noisette: Soška, Ana Mezgec & Nakana: Parkiram, Saša Lešnjek: Avtobus št. 6, Nina Virant: Vedno je pa tvoje lice, Urška Bergant: Zlati časi, Ana Maria Mitić: Oda vodovodarju, Žigan Kranjčan: Zrcalo, Uglašeni: Zdaj je čas za naju dva, Primož Vidovič: Kruha in iger and Jure Ivanušič & Nordunk: Zrcalo družbe.
“Chanson is a song that expresses a message through the meaningful interplay of lyrics, music, and interpretation. Contemporary chanson combines the richness of tradition with the freshness of current musical and lyrical forms, while reflecting the spirit of our time: the stories, thoughts, and experiences of individuals and society—our fears, visions, realizations, delusions, and courage. Chanson captures messages for today and the future. Each creator has the opportunity to convey them in a unique, personal way. A good chanson is distinguished by daring lyrics, often (satirically) topical, a thoughtful musical form, and a refined interpretation. The Festival of Slovenian Chanson was revived in 2023 by Radio Slovenia’s First Programme in cooperation with Television Slovenia. The expert jury—Vita Mavrič, Rudi Pančur and Goran Dekleva—selected 11 chansons. These songs were recorded in the autumn months in Studio 26, Studio 13 of Radio Slovenia, and Maribor’s Studio 22,” said festival editor Andrej Prezelj, who introduced the album.

- Grand Prize – Slovenian Chanson 2025 for the best overall chanson: Zrcalo družbe, performed by Jure Ivanušič & Nordunk
- Best Lyrics Award: Zrcalo by Žigan Kranjčan, performed by the Krajnčan brothers
- Best Music Award: Parkiram by Ana Mezgec & Nakana
- Promising Young Performer Award: Saša Lešnjek for the chanson Avtobus št. 6
