This project is the result of a collaboration process with some of the best young Slovenian musicians determined to make a quality product with the music of Nejc Kuhar.
The idea came from the young Slovenian guitarist and composer Nejc Kuhar (1987), who wanted to record a CD using his compositions. He wanted to do it incorporating the highest possible level of quality, but under one specific condition: it must be recorded in collaboration just with young musicians. So he invited some excellent young Slovenian musicians to collaborate in doing this project, which was generously supported by the Slovenian Ministry of
Culture and also by Radio Slovenia. Nejc Kuhar who is also a guitarist, all compositions on this CD include his instrument. And to make it really on the highest level, he subjectively stepped away from being the main guitarist on this project and played the role as composer, mentor and a person behind the project and trusted the previous task to the young Slovenian guitar virtuoso Mak Grgić.
The idea for this CD was quite ambitious, but as it is quite common with such projects, we couldn't know in which direction it was going to develop. The recording in the Radio Slovenija studio soon transformed into a general playing session by a series of excellent young Slovene musicians, who all shared the desire to create the first Slovene classical music manifest, an idea instigated by the composer Nejc Kuhar. It isn't very often that so many promising young
musicians gather together with the same idea and successfully realise their goal. I'm very honoured to have the opportunity to actively participate in this event and to be able as a guitar player to create a chamber ensemble with musicians on other instruments, who at the same time represent the best of Slovene classical musicians.
