According to experts Petar Milić is considered one of the best Slovenian pianists on an international scale. Born in Kranj, he began with piano lessons at the age of seven. After primary school he educated himself simultaneously at Gimnazija Kranj and Music and ballet High school in Ljubljana in the class of prof. Janez Lovše. He continued his studies at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana also with prof. Janez Lovše as his mentor. During his student years he performed all over Slovenia and furthered his education with renowned international masters such as Arbo Valdma, Igor Lazko, Daniele Alberto, Pascal Devoyon and Elena Lapitskaja. In 1996 he received a student Prešeren award of the Academy of Music for his rendition of the 4th piano concert by Ludwig van Beethoven conducted by Anton Nanut. In 1997 he won the 1st prize at Nikolai Rubinstein International Piano Competition in Paris. In the same year he was invited to Rencontres musicales festival in Geneve, Switzerland.

Striving to perfect his knowledge, Milić went to Hochschule der Künste in Berlin for his postgraduate studies, where he was mentored by Klaus Hellwig. During his studies he performed in Berlin and Hannover on numerous occasions and also recorded material for RTV Slovenija, the national broadcaster. The recording of his recital was selected by a jury of european radio broadcasters to be a part of the 2001 musical festival in Bratislava, an event initiated by Yehudi Menuhin to promote young musicians. His solo performance was heard by millions of listeners throughout Europe.

As a soloist Petar Milić has so far performed with the Slovene Philharmonic Orchestra, the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, the Ljubljana Academy of Music Orchestra and Carnium Chamber Orchestra conducted by Marko Letonja, Anton Nanut, Marko Munih, Marko Hribernik and Peter Škrjanec. Additionally Petar Milić has performed many recitals both at home and abroad. To mention a few, he has performed in Paris, Berlin, Hannover, Bruxelles, Bratislava and Geneva. In Slovenia, he has performed in the Marjan Kozina Hall at the Slovenian Philharmonic, the Union Hall in Maribor, at the Piran Musical Evenings, the Summer Concerts at the City Museum of Ljubljana at the Musical Summer festival at Bohinj and at EPTA conferences. In 2011 he qualified as a docent for piano at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana.

During the season of 2012/13 he is planning recitals at the National Hall in Celje, Nova Gorica Arts Centre and Cankarjev dom, the largest Slovenian arts and humanities institution.

»Pianist's performance aroused sweeping admiration due to his technical prowess and highly passionate interpretation, which are some of many traits that liken Petar Milić to piano masters and we are sure that concert-hall doors are widely open to him.«
Janko Šetinc, Večer, 3.11.2005

»Milić's view of Haydn's and Beethoven's Sonata (in E-flat major Hob. XVI/49; in D major, no. 7 op. 10,3) was modern and exciting. Despite being brilliantly fast, his finger technique wasn't even slightly concerned with the embellishing  outside skin, but was rather illuminating and stratifying: concise, brave, naughty (Haydn's Finale), but nevertheless entirely dedicated to the form and structure. In Beethoven's sonata also with an unusual inner strength, that lifted the slow movement to a horrifying and, alas, mistical quiet greatness, from which, without interruption, tenderly emerged the Menuet .«
Jure Dobovišek, Delo 25.11.2005

»… And so emerged the ultimate truth to the pianist. In the aforementioned Chopin's 3rd Sonata, in Largo that entirely disappears and at the same time entirely opens into a quiet poem, which can only come into being, when the human-artist completely trusts himself. For this long moment alone in which all boundaries disappeared, sincere thanks to Milić.«
Jure Dobovišek, Delo 5.11.2010

»The last Chopin's Sonata present the interpreter with a challenge in all aspects of piano play. Milić fought valliantly with the Scherzo and the last movement, emerging from the battle as one of the finest Slovenian pianists. Passages were executed in astounding technique, flawlessly, and the energetic interpretation of the Largo left no-one in the completely filled concert-hall untouched.«
Mihael Kozjek, Radio Slovenija 17. 8. 2011
