ZKP RTV Slovenia in cooperation with Radio Slovenia - Ars Programme, the SiBRASS society and the Academy of Music of the University of Ljubljana is publishing the The artistic project Peace by Brass ensemble of the Academy of Music University of Ljubljana BrassAG. The record features new works composed for this purpose by professors, alumni and students of the University of Ljubljana Academy of Music: Prof. Andrej Misson: Poker for Peace, Assist. Prof: David Veber: Perpetuum mobile, Tilen Slakan: Peaceful Reverie and Simon Kravos: War and Peace and begins with fanfare Also sprach Zarathustra by Richard Strauss. The purpose of the music and art project PEACE by the brass instrument department of the University of Ljubljana Academy of Music, in collaboration with the University of Ljubljana Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film, and Television and with support from the University of Ljubljana Council for the Arts, is to raise general awareness of tolerance and peace as fundamental human values, responsibilities, possibilities, rights, and assets. „Peace is a value and a universal wish for everyone. It should be everlasting. Conflicts should cease, and reason should prevail. It also presents an opportunity for individuals, groups, nations, and countries to focus on creating a better future for their children, themselves, and for all who respect themselves and others,“ the project's creators wish and composer and member of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts Lojze Lebič adds: “The history is full of turmoils and wars; yet, peace remains our fundamental hope. And it is music that can bring us to the mystery that connects us with the sanctity of spirituality, freedom, and peace.“
 

Brass ensemble of the Academy of Music, University of Ljubljana BrassAG

The BrassAG ensemble was established in 2007 in order to enable the future young professional musicians to get as many music experience as possible by performing on concert stages in Slovenia and abroad. It gives them the opportunity to present themselves through various programs not only in the ensemble, but also in the solo musical works. Our program is a composition of musical works, originally written for the brass ensemble and of various arrangements. The BrassAG activity is not restricted by the technical realization of the program, we are also focusing on the performance, manner of expression and mutual cooperation on the stage. It has already documented his recording experience with ZKP RTV Slovenia and Programme Ars with his first promotional album BrassAG a few years ago. Furthermore, our intention is to attract young audience, show them the great pallete of brass instruments and gain their interest for that sort of music.
