The first real Slovenian comedy, shot by the Czech František Čap with a bunch of then non-professional actors. “Vesna is a technically flawless film, with which Čap has taken Slovenian cinema to a completely new quality level. The film is distinguished by an elegant editing, meaningful dialogues, witty humorous inserts and a conventional, but sensitive composition”(Dr. Peter Stanković, film historian). The most important Slovenian film awards are named after the leading role of Vesna.

SYNOPSIS

The first true comedy produced in Slovenia, it' s about the lives of high-school students. In a jolly good mood three students who are to take "the abitur" examination decide that one of them, Samo, will try to win the heart of Professors' daughter and in this way try to get hold of the mathematics paper. When Samo comes to know Vesna a bit better, he seriously falls in love with her and refuses to hear anything about the papers. Vesna, on the other hand, learns from a colleague of Samo's about their plan and doesn’t want to see Samo ever again. Well, at the end things get cleared up and reconciliation follows.

The screenplay was written by František Čap and Matej Bor, the film director is František Čap, the director of photography is Pavel Grupp, the author of the music is Bojan Adamič, the editor is Milka Badjura, the production designer is Mirko Lipužič, the costume designer is Mija Jarc and the make-up artists are Berta Meglič and Jan Novotny.
