A black comedy about a group of urban idlers during a lazy summer. A guerrilla feature debut by Miha Hočevar, which was produced independently, without the support of the Film Fund and in collaboration with the theatre group Grapefruit. The film is one of the key works of the post-2000 revival of Slovenian cinema, and has also been well received in cinemas. “Jebiga has the hallmarks of the Slovenian film revival: stylisation, wit, smallness and the ability to say something very substantial about the human condition. In this respect, it is one of the most important works of recent Slovenian cinema” (Peter Stanković, film historian).

SYNOPSIS

Five young men, each without a job, spend most of their time together at a local bar seeing how much beer they can drink without paying. Occasionally outside events intrude on their easy-going lifestyle, such as searching for a missing car, and the appearance of an attractive young hairdresser and her friend.
