When the reader approaches the work of Edvard Kocbek (1904 - 1981), he find himself (together with the author) immersed in history. This documentary, however, was made in 2004 with a single purpose: to relieve us of the burden of history and to bring us closer to the Kocbek who seems the greatest to us. A poet but also also a politician and a moralist, a rationalist and a mystic, an ascetic and a lustful man. The film won the Best Documentary TV Movie Victor award.

SYNOPSIS

It seems that we know a lot about Edvard Kocbek: after all, there are his diaries and there is his collected work, which was insightfully and respectfully edited and commented on by dr. Andrej Inkret. He found virtually everything written that was relevant about Kocbek: from private letters to party and Udba reports. He found everything that was accessible. All available material was also available for the film. The testimonies of many of Kocbek's contemporaries are added to the collection: sons, friends, acquaintances, poetic colleagues and historical interpreters. And the testimony of his most loyal friend, the writer Boris Pahor. This is how the story of this documentary came about.
