A »black-wave film« about juvenile delinquency, which for the first time in the history of Slovenian film shows a completely naked woman. Jože Pogačnik's feature debut from 1967, which in the »dark and creepy atmosphere of a 'Gothic novel' shows a reformatory (with a manager who organizes parties for political officials) as a prison system that produces delinquents" (Zdenko Vrdlovec, film historian). The director commented on his film: "Because my feature debut threatened the untouchable perfection of the authorities at the time, they silenced me with an eighteen-year long work fasting." The film also starred one of the most famous Czech actresses, Hana Brejchová, who established herself two years before in Miloš Forman's film Loves of a Blonde.

THE PACKAGE ALSO CONTAINS: The documentary Cukrarna (1972) by Jože Pogačnik, a tribute to the building in Ljubljana and its inhabitants with a glorious past and a tragic present.

SYNOPSIS

The film depicts the fates of several young men living in a home for juvenile delinquents situated in what was once a manor house. The young men are angry at themselves and the whole world. Their lives are fraught with conflicts which often lead to morbid consequences. Flight leads to chance love affairs and blackmail to death. Dane Zajc once wrote: "The great black bull bellows in the pale dawn," but it seems as though the castle bulls will never see the light.
