The second feature film by the Slovenian director Olmo Omerzu, a graduate of the famous Prague FAMU. Family Film is a Czech-Slovak-German-French-Slovenian coproduction. »If A Night Too Young was already a great debut, the young director further developed his research of human nature in the Family Film and created something very unique. SYNOPSIS

A husband and wife go sailing across the ocean, leaving their two children at home. The seemingly careless life is disturbed by a sense of fear when they lose touch with their parents. The boat capsized and their dog went missing. The parents return home only to find out that their son needs a kidney transplant and, as it turns out, the husband is not the boy’s biological father. At the height of the crisis, we take our leave of the family and see a deserted island where the dog fights for survival. One day, a ship appears on the horizon and the dog returns home. But where is home actually?

ABOUT THE FILM

Starring Karel Roden, Vanda Hybnerová, Daniel Kadlec, Jenovéfa Boková, Eliška Křenková in Martin Pechlát. The screenplay was written by  Nebojša Pop Tasić and Olmo Omerzu, who also directed the film, the director of photography is Lukáš Milota, the production designer is Iva Němcová, the editor is Janka Vlčková, the sound recordist is Johannes Doberenz, the sound designer is Florian Marquardt, the costume designer is  Marjetka Kürner Kalous, the make-up artist are  Kristýna Jurečková and Anke Saboundjian, the producer is Jiří Konečný and the coproducer Boštjan Ikovic from Arsmedia.
