EXPOSED DESCRIPTION

»I am wondering if emotions can overcome illness. I am interested in the unusual atmosphere of a retirement home, which oscillates between poetics and a higher discovery related to age and childhood, which comes when one can no longer take care of oneself« (Miroslav Mandić, director and screenwriter). Sanremo world premiered at the 24th Tallinn International Film Festival and was then screened at more than 20 film festivals around the world. At the Balkan Panorama Festival in Izmir, Turkey, Sanremo received the award for best director (Miroslav Mandić) and for best actor (Sandi Pavlin). After a successful international path and distribution on five continents, Sanremo was a Slovenian candidate for an Oscar nomination for Best International Feature Film in 2022. »Miroslav Mandić's fourth feature film is  sparing with words and is rich in visual imagery. SYNOPSIS 

The protagonists are Bruno and Duša, who live in a retirement home. They meet occasionally, spend time together, but always forget that they know each other.

Starring Sandi Pavlin (Bruno), Silva Čušin (Soul), Boris Cavazza (Dare), Mojca Funkl (Špela), Barbara Cerar (Therapist), Lara Komar (Care assistant), Barbara Vidovič (Nurse), Doroteja Nadrah (Jana) and Safet Mujčić (Guard). The director and screenwriter is Miroslav Mandić, the director of photography is Peter Zeitlinger, the production designers are Dušan Milavec and Barbara Kapelj, the costume designer is Polonca Valentinčič, the make-up artist is Anita Ferčak, the sound designer is Francesco Morosini, author of the music is Darko Rundek and the editor is Andrej Nagode.
