At ZKP RTV Slovenija, in collaboration with Radio Slovenija – Prvi program, we are releasing the single Dneva krog performed by Jadranka Juras. The single announces her upcoming album Dva črna vrana, which will be released on October 15th in both CD and digital format. “This is the only track on the album not composed by Milan Stanisavljević, who otherwise provides the creative backbone of the record, but by Simon Krčmar. The lyrics, written by Katja Petrovec, explore the power of fateful love and passion—forces of nature that are beyond human control. At first, everything seems possible, but then emotions overwhelm with such intensity that reason can no longer withstand the physical pressure—until doubt begins to seep into the reality of it all. In the end, only belief remains. My own interpretation of the lyrics relates more to the uncontrollability of life itself, which inevitably leads to surrender. But not a passive surrender—rather, an active one, a surrender that does not signal weakness but often brings liberation from the physical,” reveals Jadranka. The songs from the new album will be performed live on November 21th at the Skalna dvorana of Ljubljana Castle, where she will present the album with the Jadranka Juras Jazz Quintet.

Jadranka Juras
Jadranka began her musical journey in the late 1990s with the band Planet Groove. She deepened her vocal and musical expertise at the Jazz Institute of the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, graduating in 2008 in concert jazz singing under Prof. Dena DeRose. Combining jazz vocals, the influence of contemporary popular music, and her drive for original expression, she released two acclaimed solo projects: her debut album Anima and later Sakura. Both received excellent reviews, and singles from each reached the top positions on major Slovenian radio charts. Throughout her career, Jadranka has collaborated with many renowned musicians and composers and has performed on numerous stages at home and abroad. For the past 15 years, she has studied opera singing with Prof. Alenka Slokar Bajc and has sung on opera house stages. She has also recorded two jazz albums—Paris Honey (2016) and You and I and the Music (2019), both in collaboration with the RTV Slovenija Big Band. In 2019, she recorded and released the album Enkratna, neponovljiva with the group Okustični, which was awarded the Zlata piščal for Best Album of 2020.
