ZKP RTV Slovenia is releasing the new album by double bassist, composer and producer Robert Jukič, one of the most active and distinguished figures on the Slovenian jazz scene. Entitled Congregation, the album marks his 22nd recording release and captures an extraordinary concert performance recorded on November 11, 2025, at Cankarjev dom in Ljubljana. The project, Robert Jukič 4 + Bram De Looze, brings together five outstanding voices of the European jazz scene in a dynamic and richly expressive musical dialogue. Alongside Robert Jukič, the ensemble features trumpeter Tomaž Gajšt, saxophonist Boštjan Simon, drummer Kristijan Krajnčan, and special guest Bram De Looze, the internationally acclaimed Belgian pianist. Congregation documents a live performance in which the musicians created a compelling, profound and inspiring sonic narrative through original compositions and free improvisation. At its core are lyrical melodies, rhythmic vitality, refined interaction between the performers, and an openness to the spontaneity of the moment—qualities that define exceptional jazz artistry. The album's title, Congregation, symbolically captures the essence of the project: a gathering of remarkable musical personalities who build a unified artistic expression through listening, responding, and creating together. The recording from Cankarjev dom is therefore not merely a concert document, but also a valuable testament to the artistic dialogue between musicians who, each in their own way, contribute to shaping the landscape of contemporary European jazz. With his 22nd album, Robert Jukič continues his long-standing artistic journey of exploring contemporary jazz expressions and connecting outstanding musicians from both the Slovenian and international music scenes. Released by ZKP RTV Slovenia, Congregation confirms the significance of this project within both the Slovenian and wider European jazz communities, while representing another important milestone in the rich and diverse oeuvre of one of Slovenia's most prominent jazz artists.
