The first album of the band Društvo mrtvih pesnikov Iskanje (Searching) which has been released in 1992 is now available in digital form. The author of the lyrics and music is Borut Tiran. The songs were influenced by the popular music of the 80s especially by the groups Dire Straits and U2. From the very beginning DMP has been a predominantly pop group in the noble sense of the word which has especially with lyrics even at that time deviated from the predominantly entertaining music scene which established itself in Slovenia in the 1990s.

Društvo mrtvih pesnikov (Dead Poets Society)(also DMP) is a Slovenian pop rock band from Novo mesto. The group consists of singer and guitarist Alan Vitezič, guitarist Peter Dekleva, keyboardist Boštjan Artiček, bassist Tomaž Koncilija and drummer Marko Zajc. The band has been active under this name since September 1990 and has to date released seven studio albums: Iskanje (ZKP RTVS, 1993), Opus II (DMP, 1996), Neki rabm, da te ne pozabm (Helidon, 1998), 20:00 (Nika, 2000), Vojna in mir (Menart Records, 2008), Krog (ZKP RTVS, 2010) and Astronavt (2018) and a double album of biggest hits 25 (DMP, 2015) on the occasion of its 25th anniversary.
