In collaboration with Val 202, ZKP RTV Slovenija is releasing Panda’s CD and digital album Vse najboljše II. The album is a collection of songs spanning the band’s 40-year career. The compilation offers an overview of the long creative journey of one of Slovenia’s most distinctive pop-rock bands, which has remained true to its signature sound over the decades while enriching its music with elements of pop, rock, jazz, rap, and fusion. Over four decades of making music, Panda has released 12 original projects, set the poetry of France Prešeren to music, won several festivals, and collaborated with numerous musicians and singers. An important part of the band’s story has also been shaped by its different female vocalists, each of whom brought new colours to Panda’s musical world in her own way, without the band ever losing its distinctive musical identity. “The members of Panda have never been content to rely on a single tried-and-tested formula. They have easily shaken off genre limitations and preconceptions, while enriching their sound with complex arrangements and polished studio production. The interplay between their rock and pop heritage and their constant search for new sonic landscapes is what has given the band its remarkable longevity on the Slovenian music scene. Over the past decades, most of the band’s repertoire has been contributed by Andrej Pompe, who – with the help of a talented team of musicians – created the foundation for the vocal interpretations of Saša, Nina, both Suzanas, Katja, and Sara. Each of them brought a different colour to Panda’s world, yet always in a way that made a discerning ear notice and sent a message that something was happening in their camp once again. Refined and tried-and-tested – from then on, forever! Perhaps it is precisely the diversity of their musical expression that has been the most important factor in the band’s longevity. Despite the changes in female vocalists, it is clear that their music thrives in every line-up. This is also because their desire to create and perform has always been – and remains – strong. Panda has never pursued popularity at any cost; the band has always focused on lasting quality. And that is precisely why, after four decades, its members are still here – fresh, relevant, and unbeatable,” says music editor Jernej Vene, accompanying the album on its journey into the world.

Panda will also mark four decades of music with the major anniversary concert Panda: Nepremagljivi. 40 (Panda: Unbeatable. 40), taking place on 30 September at 8 p.m. in the Linhart Hall at Cankarjev dom. Panda will perform with Nina Bauman, vocals; Andrej Pompe, keyboards and vocals; Vlado Pirc, bass and vocals; Samo Pirc, guitar; Damjan Mulej, drums; and Vanja Vogrinčič, percussion. They will be joined on stage by the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra conducted by Matjaž Mikuletič. The concert will feature well-known hits including Sive ceste, Daleč stran, Nepremagljivi, Kako ga čutim, Noro, Zguba, and V poznih nočnih urah, alongside new songs (Dej povej, V meni moč je) and several rarely performed gems (Ustavi konje dragi moj, Jaz si želim ...). Saxophonist Primož Fleischman will add his virtuosity to selected songs, while singer Andraž Hribar will contribute his distinctive interpretation. Backing vocalists and a wind and brass section will further enrich the musical sound. A special highlight of the evening will be Zmajski most, a composition created especially for the concert and conceived as a kind of symphonic portrait of Panda.
