ZKP RTV Slovenia is releasing the jubilee album Odpotovanja (Journeys) by Tomaž Pengov with restored sound in single-channel (mono) sound technology, provided by Aco Razbornik. The first version of the record bears the year 1973. On the cover you will also find the original accompanying text by the poet Milan Dekleva, an article by the music journalist Stane Sušnik from the Stop magazine from March 1974, and two more articles from Glasbena mladina and Tribuna from that time, by one of the participants on the album, later a member of Pengov's band Salamander, Professor Metka Zupančič.
"Journeys is an individual confession of a lone troubadour, but at the same time a timeless legacy of the enthusiasm of the student generation at that time. The first independent singer-songwriter record in Yugoslavia was completely different from the music of that (and other) times. Recordist Aco Razbornik - for him it was the first recording venture of this kind - recalls Tomaž Pengov's extraordinary concentration during the sessions. Because of Aco's inexperience, they had to record the acoustic guitar for each track in one take. They were disturbed by the old wiring in the house at Prešernova 1, which intruded into the creative silence with unexpected noises and pops. This did not take away their momentum, and Pengov even used the dripping water in the bathtub as an introduction to the track Ladje prostora (Ships of Space)," writes Teja Klobčar, music editor of Radio Slovenia - Prvi, in the accompanying text of the restored edition.
